HOUSE OF VOLTAIRE

oh yeah! House of Voltaire, flying through the windows into this mysterious lair, buzzing, friendly and flying off the chair.

HOUSE OF VOLTAIRE
11 November – 4 December 2010
Mon – Sat 11am – 7pm / Sun 12 – 6pm

So i went to check it out on a dark, gloomy Sunday evening. I rang the bell on this mysterious door, and awaited in silence. A buzzing noise came from nowhere and the door could now be pushed open, i wondered in curiously, climbing each stair like a spirit of the night......ERM OK! Anyway once i stopped prancing around like a ghost, i entered into this wonderful atmosphere with nice windows. The art was beautiful , i was drawn to well...almost everything really! I was handed some wine as i captured the scene, maybe this was my chance to join the vampires. But no! , they were just amazingly friendly :) . Princess Julia was there on  this day, matching those plates i could see around ;)  , if you purchased one, will you eat off of her face or simply frame it? ...I guess this leaves the audience to decide.

DANIEL LISMORES & JOSH QUINTONS POP UP SHOP!

Puked up glamour, vintage leaking and infested with creatures of the night

You have to love it, these photos were taken at an amazing and my favourite night in London at the moment- THE FACE

Also just found this fantastic photo or 2 of my friends at the pop up shop, these are an example of the types of people to shop here, photo taken by fabulous camera friend Dragarazzi De Jonge  . I love her.
Sorapol, Yuan, Jonathon and some guy with amazing orange hair who is being held hostage by the clothes and personality creatures.

PLACES places and those striking faces

Me- Yes I am revisiting Machine A, Liberty and Daniel Lismore And Josh Quintons Pop Up Shop very shortly in the next day or so.

I think i need another picture of the pop up shop so i need to go and take more of what it looks like.

I need to revisit Machine A to see whats going on at the moment and have a chat with the people there.

I still need to go to Browns and explore. I think i will go and do some drawings of it. And if i see any customers and they look friendly enough i will talk to them and ask how often they shop there and just try and find out a bit more about the customer. I will also do the same with The Convenient Store.

MACHINE-A

Artrageous, gobsmacking, fierce and fresh, it sucks you in and trashes your vest.

I Love Machine-A , it is basicly an independent boutique and gallery space dedicated to emerging fresh new talent, this brilliant place has been created by Stavros Karelis. The people that work here are friendly and great to talk to, a main part of this place is showcasing new designers by them doing an installation in the window... I went to the last one there- Craig Lawrences, which i infact got invited to the launch for!

I have also just now found myself there on a Japanese fashion site- http://www.fashion-press.net/news/1276

I went to Machine-A  on the 20th of October to Craig Lawrences private exhibition and party.
This post is taken from something i wrote previously on my other blog 'Naddys Fashion Aspirin'

CRAIG LAWRENCE exhibition & party at Machine-A

MMeowwwww,

Stunning stunning, beautiful, glamourous, gobsmacking, perfect, pretty, fierce, fabulous, inspiring, fun, freaktastic, brilliant, head spinning...there are soo many words to describe Craig Lawrence and his work. Touching the clothes was enough to give everyone an overdose, so it was super generous to have free alcohol and music as well.

The window display was so magical, lots of balloons !! yay! and various differn't poeple partying in the window every-now and then; including an elongated figure that came to life...or maybe it was just an outrageously tall drag queen with legs from heaven?!

I had so much fun, the best exhibition/party i have been to. It was so well put together, a massive success. As soon as the crowd walked into machine a ,it was like entering a tardis...where did they all fit? Everytime you turned round a different person would appear! And not only that but everyone was so-super-tastikly friendly, i met some wonderful people. I think its now time to brace yourselves and check out my photos:
